My Trusted Friend

An Unusual Friend I Know It started many many years ago. I would get out of bed on a Sunday morning after listening to the radio stories since 6.00am. This was like a religion for me that I participated in every Sunday morning. Then I would go to the kitchen and there it was, my yet to be, friend, right there, all alone in the kitchen. I left home many years later and was unable to take my friend with me and even though we parted on bad terms my beloved friend was always there in the recesses of my mind. After finding the love of my life I settled down to family and work and decided it was time my friend and I were re-united. That very day I went to my favorite mall and returned with my shiny new friend. I plugged in the jug, boiled the water and sure enough there was my friend just sitting there, waiting in anticipation for me to pour the hot, boiling water into it. This I did. I carried my friend to the table along with a cup and some milk and finally sat down to enjoy a cup of deliciously brewed tea from my long almost forgotten friend, my shiny new teapot. |
