How Do I Know My Drinking Water Is Safe For My Baby?

How do any of us really know? It is not usually a subject we discuss. "Is our drinking water safe?" But in this day and age I think it is a very important topic that not only should be discussed but investigated in every country of the world. Especially those countries who's governments own the public's water reticulation systems. The reason I put this in front of you is you are in a different position than that of your ancestors. Their drinking water was crystal clear, pure and clean and above all it was water without man created contaminants. The dams it was captured in had no farmland chemical run offs into the water entrapment area. Plus there was no nuclear fall out. The nuclear age not only brought us cheap energy and a never ending supply of fuel but also a waste product none of our forefathers ever needed to worry about. Not so in our case. I, like many others born in the fifties, grew up worrying about global nuclear destruction. I have watched movies ion it, read about it and more distressingly, I have had to answer questions posed me by my children. What has this to do with our drinking water ? The production of water droplets has been the same from the beginning of time. Water is removed from the oceans and other large bodies of water all over our planet from to evaporation due to the heat applied to these masses by our sun. This evaporated water attracts to itself and the water then forms clouds. These water filled clouds travel the planet and release their contents when the conditions are correct. This rain, from the heavens, now travels through our atmosphere until it touches land. In this traveling it can pick up every contaminant that just happens to be held in suspension in our atmosphere thus bringing them into our catchment areas. Further, these possibly contaminated waters are filtered then piped to our homes. Does the government water reticulation filtering system filter out all these dangerous contaminants that have been picked up from our industrially ravaged atmosphere? Can radio active contaminants be removed from our drinking water ? These questions all need to be asked by us all and answered to our liking for it is we that drink this water and give it, possibly unwittingly, to our children. |
